Sometimes when you grow as an artist you just need to do over a painting. Such is the case with this landscape of French Creek that was originally done in 2015. My husband and I like it much better now. So I will rename it 'French Creek II'
As artists grow and improve there comes a time when you question what to do with older work that has not sold. Some artists have a burning where old works go to die. Some works of art that can be saved get a revision. This was how I felt about the French Creek painting. I still liked the concept and composition so decided to paint over parts of the piece and now it represents more of what I had envisioned. So glad I did. Below is an image of the old painting next to the new one. Enjoy!
