5 x 7 inches acrylic on canvas board $50 includes tax and shipping
I was almost ready to scrap this one after I had started it. The background just wasn't going the way I had in mind. But the morning brought new insight and within 20 minutes I had the background at least going in the direction I wanted it to go. I was also able to work on the Cardinal with better control. Amazing what a good night sleep does for you. Having done the color studies helped. I sometimes find it difficult to achieve variations on red but with proper color mixing I was able to paint till the bird was done.
Some thoughts I am going to try that I didn't do here is paint an under coat of either opposite color or adjacent color. Still trying to paint by not adding a lot of detail. I like seeing the brush strokes.
Next painting I'll do some photos of the work in progress. And a reminder these small studies are for sale at a lower price to make them affordable. I will not be reproducing them and will only be available through me. Thanks for looking.
I would love to stay in touch and keep you up to date on New Art, Giclee Prints and Exhibition Shows.
Also I'll include some snippets of my Studio Blog and the occasional Special offers.
