I'm taking a big leep here working larger than I normally do but told myself "Just do it!" After staging the Red Sandals other ideas began to emerge like this one. I took a couple of my crocks, quilt and an orioles nest I had to set up a still life. Then went through my photos to find a male and female Oriole to add to the set up. Still working in acrylics and loving it. I think I am finally getting a feel for the paint and what I can do. The photo above was my first layer to block in the objects and the flow of the quilt. ![]() Here the second day of painting I started with the background and worked my way to the crocks. I was pretty pleased with the reflection and highlights going on in the crocks. I did notice the smaller crock being off a bit and was able to do some adjustments in the next photo. ![]() In this photo I adjusted the small crock and added more shadow depth. Painted the nest and twigs along with the male Oriole. Then I moved to the quilt on the left side for a break from the birds. Thursday I will be able to do more after my Grandson goes home. I hope to have this finished and framed by Friday night so I can enter it into a jury show. So check back for the rest of the painting and I will also give some tips I'm finding helpful working with acrylics. Enjoy,
