I love the mobility with my new iPad mini. We are in Maine on vacation so I'm using my iPad to post. It is so nice to travel without a laptop computer and still have everything you need to stay connected.
In my blog post on Time I showed the beginning stage of my next painting. I did get it started but this has been a month of family gatherings and celebrations which left little time for studio work. So the image above is where I left off before we started our vacation. Now I'm sure you are wondering what I am painting on. This is a watercolor on paper but I was getting frustrated with the paper warping as I worked on it. I'm using 140lb paper and decided why couldn't you mount it to a substraight.
In this photo you can see I used Yes paste to mount the paper to acid free foam board which was also mounted to gater board to keep it flat. If you should get some of the paste on the surface it will come off with warm water. And so far even after I wet the paper it has not come loose from the mount.
I will finish up when we get back and will also be able now to frame it without matting it. So more to come on this watercolor and how I will be framing it.
