These past few weeks have not been real good to us in the Kelly household. We ended the year getting the flu and started the year practically laying flat all day. Even though my husband gets the flu shot because he is a nurse he still came down with it and then passed it to me. Unfortunately mine turned into bacterial pneumonia. The last time I got out was a couple days after Christmas to get a few more snowy owl shots. This one was at our South Pier. The owls are still hanging around and I do hope I can get out for more photo shoots. In the meantime I have been taking it easy and finally got in the studio to finish the chickadee painting I started before Christmas.
Since I have been sort of sitting a lot my mind has been working on overdrive. I think this might turn into something good because I have several ideas now I would like to try. I've also been following some online email marketing classes. But mostly the ideas have been creative ones and I'm looking forward to sharing with you the next few months the artistic play I'm planning.
With the chickadee painting I was trying out a background that showed more brush strokes. I also wanted the leaves to be more brushed rather than going for detail. I can get hung up with detail sometimes and would like to loosen up. Still need some work in that area but I am quite pleased with how the painting came along. Below shows the work in progress. I'll be adding the finished work to my Studio News page after I frame it. So be sure to check it out there later this week.
Enjoy the process! You can see the finished piece here on my home page.
